What can Iran do that it is not already doing, despite being even more weakened?--Expand their wars in Yemen, Lebanon or Syria? Call on Russia to infiltrate America's voting systems electronically? HA HA HA HA HA. Like China, who no doubt played a role in sparking this conflict since they are trying to avoid signing the Phase One Trade Deal with USA on Jan. 15th, Iran may appear to talk tough; but these nations are themselves, in fact, teetering on the brink.
The point of the attack was to curtail Iran's expansion in the Gulf. It seems to be working and I congratulate President Trump on his decision. It's almost as bold the Bin Laden raid (though Trump has done this twice now successfully). The terrorists vowed revenge back then too--still waiting.
I thought that America was "energy independent" and that we don't require Iranian oil anymore. Iran's oil capacity is down to droplets compared to our strong ally Saudi Arabia and yet Senator Graham wants to "bomb Iran" like his dead compatriot, Senator McCain. There is absolutely zero strategic value to going to war with Iran; but Neo-conservatives ("Neo-cons", which means that they are not "true" conservatives such as those Ronald Reagan created--Rush Limbaugh, for example--but rather those re-engineered during the Bush Administration a la Dick Cheney) of the Bush era are salivating to go to war--yet again. Bush's ferocity for war inspired me to blog and write my opposition back then. Here is a book that I published. Things are a bit different today; I have more experience and know-how about words. By the way, this is a great thing about being a book publisher--at least now that I have a library of nearly 1,000 books by authors numbering in the several hundreds. Which means that most of the authors I worked with published 2, 3, 4, or 10 books with me--not just 1 book. That in turn also implies that I work with real writers i.e. not some bozo on TV who wrote a book. I can write that I oppose war. Okay, great. But here is my calling card.
President Bush was able to take a lot of criticism. Looking back, I would say he was tough and did hold the power of the Executive intact. In some ways, Bush had it nearly as bad as Trump. Unlike Trump, however, Bush specifically did not fight back; and unlike Obama, Bush quietly went away. As I said at the time, in writing, the Bush legacy would disappear and it has, in part thanks to President Trump. (Mission accomplished. Thus, my book is validated and achieved its purpose.) President Trump has taken a big risk and it has worked. MSM are stunned. Nancy called Chuck for consolation (he had none). Great work, Mr. President, mission accomplished (in actuality). But be sure to take into consideration the next move, which would sure to be one of diminishing rewards.
